Skilled and Unskilled Tradesman

Eriksen Construction is always taking applications for both skilled and unskilled tradesman to fill positions of carpenters, laborers, heavy equipment operators, crane operators, pipe layers and laborers, and concrete craftsman. Those skilled in a craft or unskilled but willing and wanting to learn the trades are encouraged to apply. Our crews see work year round, averaging 40-50 hours per week.

Construction Superintendent

The Superintendent has the responsibility of supervising all activities on the construction project, controlling day to day operations, all subcontractors, and the project schedule. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the quality of work and materials is upheld, the workers are implementing what is on the design plan, all safety measures are being taken, and that all company standards are met. The superintendent is the onsite contact for all subcontractors, engineer, and owner representatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordination with Project Manager
  • Organization and management of field crews
  • Providing problem resolution in construction activities
  • Determining and carrying out project schedules
  • Integrating submittal information for project coordination
  • Leading jobsite safety meetings
  • Interpreting blueprints and contract specifications for field use
  • Ordering jobsite materials

Superintendent Apprentice

The Superintendent Apprentice position is structured for you to continue to grow within the construction industry, broadening your skills and maximizing your leadership abilities. The intent of this position is to enhance your field knowledge, increase your comfort level with leading a crew, and running an overall jobsite. Our average apprentice will be in this role for 12-18 months before running their own project.

The Superintendent Apprentice will work side by side with an experienced Superintendent gaining knowledge of daily field leadership operations.

Summer Internship

This internship will provide interns with a practical, hands-on learning experience where the student will be directly involved in all aspects of the day to day field work. This is primarily a field internship, but will also give the student a couple weeks of exposure to the office setting.

In-the-field work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Communication with inspectors and owners
  • Site Layouts
  • Management of Subcontractors
  • Reading Blueprints
  • Ordering Materials
  • Managing Field Crews

In-the-office work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Attending Meetings with Engineers/Owners
  • Site Visits
  • Assisting With Estimates
  • Attending Pre-Bid Meetings
  • Participating in Bid Openings
  • Assisting a Project Manager with Assignments

The Summer Internship position is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are pursing degrees in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or other related fields of study. Internships are full time, paid, positions and run May through August.

Project Manager

The Project Manager will oversee the overall project planning, budget, schedule, and all project documents. This position is also responsible for the coordination of engineers, owners, sub-contractors, and superintendents.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction projects from start to finish.
  • Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
  • Ensure that construction activities move according to schedule.
  • Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the engineers, owners, sub- contractors, superintendent, and laborers.
  • Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
  • Regular inspection of construction sites.
  • Ensure proper completion of all project documents.
